How Many Viewers Do You Need for Twitch Partner?

Twitch Partner is the next level after Affiliate. It adds perks such as more customization and priority support. The question every streamer asks is how many viewers is enough. The honest answer is that it depends on steady numbers over a period, not one great stream.

Important: requirements change, and guides on the web disagree on the exact numbers. This article does not quote thresholds that may be out of date. Read Twitch's official Path to Partner page for the current values (Twitch Help Center).

What the Partner path looks at

The program measures steady viewership over recent weeks: how many hours and days you stream and, most of all, your average concurrent viewers, which is usually in the tens of viewers. Twitch also reviews the channel itself: content quality, consistency, community and adherence to the rules. Meeting the numbers makes you eligible to apply, it does not guarantee approval.

What the average really means

The average is over all your streaming time, not just your best hour. Ten hours with 20 viewers and ten hours with 130 viewers average to 75. This is why a regular schedule with a fixed audience matters more than occasional spikes from a raid or a hosted clip. Our guide to live, average and peak viewers shows where to find each number.

How to prepare

  1. Grow the base first. Get to Affiliate and keep a stable audience.
  2. Pick a category where you can stand out. A mid-size category with fewer strong streams puts you higher in the list.
  3. Build a returning audience. Fixed schedule, recurring formats (weekly events, community nights), a Discord or social group.
  4. Collaborate. Raids, shared streams and collabs bring new people who may stay.
  5. Track your average. Check analytics every week. Repeat what raised the average and drop what lowered it.
